How to Change iPhone Wallpaper Daily Using Shortcuts

While Shortcuts app was released in iOS 12, it’s starting to come of age in iOS 13. It’s now baked into iOS and it supports true, trigger-free automation. Apple has also greatly simplified the process of creating complex shortcuts. This means that Shortcuts can do a lot more now. For example, you can use a shortcut to randomly apply a wallpaper from an album (or an online source) at a tap of a button, or on a daily basis.
Change iPhone Wallpaper Daily Using Shortcuts
Download and Use Randomize Wallpapers Shortcut

This is possible thanks to a simple shortcut. This comes via Matthew Cassinelli on Twitter, who’s a prolific Shortcuts user and writer. If you want, you can recreate the shortcut yourself using the screenshots below or you can just import the Randomize Wallpaper shortcut and start using it (we tested the shortcut on iOS 13 Beta 2 and it works well). You will need to be running iOS 13 and higher for this to work.

Before starting, download your favorite wallpapers and create an album for them. You should know that the shortcut will automatically center wallpapers so it’s best if you crop the wallpapers yourself in a super-tall aspect ratio (or aspect ratio based on the iPhone or iPad you’re using).

Step 1: Download Randomize Wallpapers shortcut from here. Go to the link and tap on Get Shortcut.

Step 2: This will open the Shortcuts app. If this is the first time you’re opening a third-party shortcut in iOS 13, it will actually not work. Instead, you’ll see a warning asking you to enable Untrusted Sources option for Shortcuts from Settings. To do this, go to Settings-> Shortcuts -> Untrusted Sources.

Step 3: Now, go back to the link and tap on Get Shortcut again. Now it will open the Shortcuts app with the details of the shortcut. Go to the bottom of the page and tap on Add Untrusted Shortcut.

Step 4: The shortcut will be added. Now let’s set it up. Find the shortcut and tap on the menu button at the top-right to customize it. Go to the Photos section and tap nex to Album. Here, select the album of wallpapers that you’ve created.

Step 5: Now, go back to the main screen or just tap on the Start button here. Select from Lock Screen or Home Screen and then wait a couple of seconds till the process of setting a random wallpaper is complete.

How to Change Wallpapers On a Schedule

iOS 13 supports a myriad of triggers for shortcuts. You can trigger a shortcut using NFC tags when you open an app, or at a given time in a day. In the current beta, the Automations are not working reliably (at least for me).

But you can go to the Automations tab and create new automation where you can select time and day as a trigger and this shortcut as an action. It should then trigger every day at the same time (like 10 AM every day) and automatically change the wallpaper for you.
Set Wallpapers From Online Sources

Twitter user Alex Chernikov has a different version this shortcut that simplifies the process further. Instead of creating an album, you can use an online source like Artpaper and set a new wallpaper from their catalog of ultra-HD artworks.

FTC Says Apple, Google Removed Three Dating Apps From Their App Stores Because They Allowed Minors to Sign Up

A trio of dating apps all maintained by the same company have been removed from Apple’s and Google’s app stores. According to the Federal Trade Commission, these apps let minors sign up.

According to a report from CNBC on Monday, the FTC has warned a company based out of the Ukraine called Wildec that its apps violate the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). This act makes it mandatory that services gain the consent of parents of minors before collecting data of those 13 years and younger.

The apps in question are Meet24, Meet4U, and FastMeet:

“The apps — Meet24, FastMeet and Meet4U — are operated by Wildec, a company based in the Ukraine, the FTC said. According to the press release, the FTC warned Wildec that the apps appeared to violate the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which requires companies to obtain parental consent before collecting or using personal information from a child under 13 years old, and the FTC Act, “which prohibits unfair practices that are likely to cause substantial consumer injury.””

The privacy policy for all of these apps stated that the user needed to be at least 13 years old. However, there were apparently no blocks in place to prevent users who indicated they were younger from using the app. That made it possible for anyone on the apps, regardless of age, to potentially contact minors using the app.

The FTC has also issued a statement on the matter, warning parents of the apps:

“Parents be warned: some dating apps – like FastMeet, Meet24 and Meet4U – allow adults to find and communicate with children. Concerned parents should remove these apps if they’re on children’s devices. You also can set your kids’ devices so they must get parental approval before purchasing any new apps. Here are a few more things you should know.

FastMeet, Meet24 and Meet4U let children create public dating profiles. So, adults can use these apps to connect with children. If that’s not scary enough, the apps collect users’ real-time location data. In other words, adults – including sexual predators – can search by age and location to identify children nearby.”

After the public notice by the FTC, both Apple and Google removed the offending apps from their individual app stores. For parents, it’s good to be aware of the app names, just in case they do pop up. It’s also possible that these apps reappear in the app stores after they’ve been updated, hopefully with the necessary changes to prevent minors from using them.Gihosoft RePicvid Free Photo Recovery Software provides a free photo recovery software for windows to help users recover the deleted or lost photo for free.

1. What is Heictojpg.com Online Converter?

Heictojpg.com is a web application that converts your HEIC photos to JPG. You simply drag and drop your photos (up to 50) onto the website’s interface, and it will convert your HEIC files to JPG. How long this takes depends on many factors, such as whether the server is busy or if your network connection is strong.

Key Features:

Easy online interface.

Drag and drop to add photos.

No need to download any software.

Convert single photo or photos in batch, up to 50.
Cons:

You can’t adjust the quality for converted JPGs.

Can be slow if your network isn’t strong or the server is busy.

Can cause a privacy leak since you’re sending your photos through a public server (the conversion is done online and the converted photos are stored in their cloud server). If your photos are private, then avoid this.Must Read:If you lost data after you updated to a new iPhone, you can always use Gihosoft iPhone Data Recovery to get the data back from the old iPhone or backup.

Get Photos out of Locked iPhone by Backing up iPhone via iTunes 2019

1 Get Photos out of Locked iPhone by Backing up iPhone via iTunes

If you had previously synced the device with iTunes, it is likely that iTunes may not ask you for the passcode when you connect the device to the computer. You can then back up and restore the device. Follow these simple steps to do it.

Step 1: Begin by connecting the device to your computer and then launch iTunes. If the device is detected click on it and in the "Backups" section, select "This Computer" and ensure that "Encrypt This Backup" is unchecked. This is to ensure that the backup doesn't include any passwords or account information.

Step 2: Click "Backup Now" and once the process is complete, you will need to erase the device and its passcode. So, while still connected too iTunes, click on "Restore iPhone."

Step 3: Once your device has been restored, set it up as new. When you get to the "Apps & Data" Screen, select the backup you created and wait for the device to be restored from the backup. The backup will include all your information without the passcode and you should now be able to access the device.Sponsor ads:

Top 4 Best Alternative to iTunes 2019-2020

2 WonderShare TunesGo

WonderShare TunesGo is a valiant attempt to all-out iTunes alternative with something better. It includes a music player and a device management function.

Some of its best feature include:

The ability to sync your iTunes data with other devices, including even Android phones.

The ability to import music from your iOS devices and transfer them to your computer.

And of course, the ability to transfer from your computer to your iOS device.

It’s available for both Mac and PC, though the Mac version is paid only.
3 MediaMonkey

Another alternative to iTunes as a media player and manager, MediaMonkey does a fairly decent job of it. If you want something that also comes with a built-in player and helps you organize your files, MediaMonkey is worth a try. Some important features include:

Finding and automatically populating your music file lists with album art.

Finding and automatically populating your music file lists with album art.

Can rip music from physical media.

Can sync to many different kinds of devices.

This software appears to only be available for Windows. Its ability is for media but not for other files. Its interface is not user-friendly enough and in an old-fashion style.

4 Syncios

This is a straight-up device manager that is simple. It does only a few things, but it does them very well, and it allows you transfer data to and from your iOS device, as well as backup that data with ease. Here are some of its more notable features:

Easy media transfer with just a few clicks.

Transfers most types of files.

Easy back-up function.

Can be downloaded for free.

SynciOS is unfortunately only for Windows.

5 Swinsian

If you’re looking mostly for something that will replace the media player aspects of iTunes and do little else, then Swinsian might be the application for you. It also looks a lot like iTunes, so it’s easy to adapt. Some of its features include:

Automatic AirPlay port detection.

Easy meta data editing.

Simple, user-friendly interface that will be familiar to iTunes users.

Some of the downsides for this one, though, are that it’s only available for Mac and that it doesn’t really function very well as a device manager.

How to Add Reactions to Videos on TikTok

You must be familiar with the popular reaction videos on YouTube. In those videos, people record themselves expressing their emotions and opinions about a YouTube video. Taking a cue from that, TikTok built a similar feature that lets anyone make reaction videos easily without leaving the TikTok app.

The feature was introduced in September 2018 when Musical.ly merged with TikTok. So how does one use the reaction feature on TikTok? Read to know all the details.

Let’s get started.
WHAT ARE REACTION VIDEOS

Saw a funny video on TikTok? You can record your reaction and add narration with the react feature.

Reaction videos carry an original video mashed up with your or anyone's reaction. So two video clips merged into one play at a time.

Also Guide: How to Recover Deleted and Lost Videos/Music from Android
HOW TO CREATE REACTION VIDEOS

Navigate to the TikTok video to which you want to add your reaction. Then tap on the Share icon to open the Share menu. Hit the React option.

TikTok will present you with a video creation screen. You'll find the original video and a small floating window on top of that showing a preview of your camera. Hold the Video button at the bottom to start shooting a video. You can lift a finger from the video button to pause the recording and resume by pressing it again.

ADD AUDIO

Audio plays a vital role in reaction videos. Sure, you can react with facial expressions only, but sound and dialogues make a video more interesting. By default, TikTok enables the mic on your phone and will record any noise in the background along with your reaction. However, if you want to turn the audio input off, tap on the Mic icon on the reaction screen to disable the microphone.

PRO TIP: For best results, use a dedicated microphone accessory to record audio.
EDIT AUDIO

A typical reaction video carries the sound from the original video and the audio/voice that you've recorded. By default, TikTok balances them in such a way that you can hear them together. However, if you want to make changes to the audio such as turn off the soundtrack, decrease the volume of the soundtrack or bump your audio's volume level — you can do that using the audio mixer feature.

Here's how to use it. Once you capture the reaction video, the app takes you to the edit screen. Here tap on the Mixer icon at the top. Then adjust the My Voice and Soundtrack volume using their respective sliders. Dragging them towards right will increase and towards left will decrease their audio levels. Finally, hit the checkmark icon to apply the changes.

NOTE: You cannot change the original audio, but you can certainly lower its volume to fade it out or mute it entirely.
CHANGE POSITION OF THE REACTION BOX

Typically, the reaction box appears at the top-left corner of the video. But you can change its position by dragging it around. You need to do that before you start shooting the video. However, you can pause recording of your reaction video and move the reaction box around.

CHANGE SIZE OF THE REACTION BOX

Similarly, you don’t have to stick with the default size of the reaction box. To change the size of the box, use two fingers to pinch in or out.

NOTE: Changing the reaction box's size is only possible before you begin recording a video.

CHANGE SHAPE OF THE REACTION BOX

TikTok offers two shapes for your reaction videos — round and rectangular. To switch between them, tap on the reaction box before you start the video. You can change the shape multiple times by pausing the reaction video recording.

You can record a reaction video using the front and rear camera. To switch cameras, tap on the Camera switch icon on the top of the recording screen. Alternatively, double tap on the reaction window to switch camera instantly.

ROTATE THE REACTION BOX

Interestingly, when you rotate the reaction box, the viewing angle also rotates. You can use that trick to create some unique and exquisite videos. To rotate the reaction box, hold it with one finger and using the second finger, turn it around. Again, you need to do it before you press the record button.

ZOOM VIDEO

If you are a regular TikTok or Instagram story user, you would know how to zoom a video. The same gesture applies to reaction videos as well. When you hold the record button while shooting, drag your finger up to zoom and slide it back down to zoom out.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DUET AND REACT

TikTok offers a feature called Duet which lets you share the screenwith others or yourself. In a duet, the second video plays to the left of the main video and does not superimpose on top of the original video. You cannot change its position, shape, or size. People used it to record reactions before the developers added the React function.

REACTION VIDEOS ARE THE FUTURE

Not everyone enjoys reaction videos. For some, it’s stupid to add themselves to the videos and then react to it. But for millions, it’s a marvelous feature to express themselves. And the barrage of reaction videos on TikTok is a result of that.

Short-form videos will anyway take over in future, and the traditional like buttons are slowly dying. With all the major social networks shifting to emoji reactions, you never know when video reactions will be a regular thing.

Until they become mainstream, show off your reaction videos on other platforms by downloading them on your device.
